Here's me straight up ;)

I'm someone who goes for it!

I'm a work hard, play hard kind of girl.

I hate being told what to do, or that I have to do things a certain way (whether that's with parenting, life or business lol). I guess you could say I'm wild at heart.  Can you relate?

I have 5 brothers and I'm the only girl so I always felt like I had something to prove. That led me to a successful six figure career in corporate sales just like all my brothers, but while it all looked great on paper, I lost myself along the way and woke up one day completely unfulfilled by my job and what I had worked so hard to build.

I think that happens to a lot of us. We bust our butts to become successful and then wake up realizing we ran in the wrong direction. Luckily for us in this day and age, we can pivot, we can shift, we can decide on something new!

I always knew I wanted to work for myself and once I had kids I knew I couldn't be the mom I wanted to be while working 80+ hours a week.

I flat out refused to choose between business success and kids so I knew I needed to find a way to have both.

I think you can probably say the same. You want total flexibility with your time, to work from anywhere, to enjoy your life while building a business, and to work in an industry where women support one another instead of the cutting each other down.

Is that really too much to ask?

Most colleagues around me laughed or rolled their eyes and said "sure Mara, if that existed everyone would be doing it."

But I'd heard that before.

The difference between people who need to be told what to do and people who go after what they want and get it is drive, belief that something outside the box is possible, and action.

"I don't know yet, but I'll figure it out" has always been my attitude and this was no different. There's always a way right?!!

If you're like me, you've probably heard someone say that you're impatient, or that you don't stick with anything long enough. That might be a strength as an employee (40 hours a week for 40 years for the same company) but as an entrepreneur I believe it's a strength to demand more and go for it, not a weakness.

We just see things a different way. We know deep down something can be different so we set out to create that new world for ourselves and others, even though we have no idea how when we start.

And you know what? Sometimes you just need to hear this from someone else. Like confirmation that you're not crazy for thinking these things.

So here it is: "YOU can want whatever YOU want, figure out how to go for it, and create any life YOU want!"

Build off your prior experience and skills. Trust me, you've learned tons along the way. It's not wasted if you shift to something new, it was the groundwork you laid for what you'll do next.

I am now a real estate investor, a business consultant and coach, and I run my own online health & wellness business. Not too bad for an ex-insurance broker eh?!!

So lady, what do YOU want?

If you're a driven, ambitious kickass woman who wants to build success your own way, you're in the right spot!
